Juan Antonio Cortés received his Degree and Doctorate in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and a Master of Arts in History of Architecture and Urban Development from Cornell University. His most recent academic position has been as Professor of Architectural Composition at Valladolid University. He is the author of diverse works and projects, although his main activity has been in architectural composition and criticism. Following these approaches, he has written several books and many articles on modern and contemporary architecture. In the last twelve years, he has written critical essays on the work of outstanding architects, mainly for the magazine El Croquis.
