Maria Gonzalez Pendas

María González Pendás is an architect and architectural historian, currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Society of Fellows in the Humanities and Lecturer in the Department of Art History and Archaeology at Columbia University. Following her graduate studies in architecture at the Polytechnic University in Madrid, she received her PhD in the History and Theory of Architecture from Columbia University. González Pendás’ work probes the political and cultural dimension of modern architecture and of architects’ ideological narratives. She has published and presented her work internationally, and is the recipient of awards from the Graham Foundation, the Buell Center at Columbia University, the Caja Madrid Foundation, and the Fulbright Program.
